Mr.P.Madhusudhan Reddy is the founding secretary of Sadhana. After completing his B.Sc, he has completed a Diploma in Management of Communication Disorders (D.M.C.D) and he has also done Bachelors in Education (B.Ed). He has extensive experience of over a three-and-a-half decades of experience in the field of intellectually Challenged children and he has worked with major NGOs in Hyderabad & Secunderabad, Telangana, India.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Surekha<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mrs. Surekha\u00a0is the principal of Sadhana School for the intellectually challenged and she is an active supporter in all the endeavors pursued by Sadhana. She has done M.A & B.S.T and also has a Diploma in Mental Retardation (D.M.R). She has also over decades experience as Special teacher in various major NGOs in Hyderabad & Secunderabad, Telangana, India.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. P.Madhusudhan hails from Nalgonda, one of the poorest and most drought-prone districts of Telangana in southern India. Added to that the district is one of the worst affected by excess fluoride, which has turned the ground water into a slow poison, crippling at least 10,000 people and leaving hundreds of thousand of others in constant misery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most shocking and sad image of people with paralysing bone diseases, stooped backs, crooked hands and legs, deformed teeth, blindness and other handicaps which are a common sight, here, moved Mrs.& Mr.Madhusudhan and they felt a strong urge to do something for the disabled. After their experience of over three-and-a-half decades of experience in disabled organisation in Hyderabad & Secunderabad, Mrs & Mr.Madhusudhan Reddy felt that more and more organisations are required to tackle this massive problem and they started ‘Sadhana’ an Institute for the welfare of intellectually Challenged in 1996 with just 2 students, in Habsiguda in Hyderabad, India.<\/p>\n

But with their dedicated and sincere service the strength of the school has increased now to 250 children with multiple disabilities like cerebral palsy, hearing impaired, intellectually challenged, etc.<\/p>\n

To provide services for the rural disabled persons in Nalgonda district, they started a Rural Rehabilitation Center in the year 1999 at Tekulasomaram Village, Valigonda Mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Telangana, India. Here there are about 50-52 intellectually challenged children undergoing rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

About Sadhana is non-profit, non-commercial, voluntary organization dedicated to the welfare of the Intellectually Disabled. Established in 1996, the institute is managed by a team of committed professionals interested in the welfare of the Intellectually Disabled.<\/p>\n

About the institute operates a day-care and residential center for boys and girls with Intellectually Disability in Nacharam, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Tailor-made educational programs provide these students with basic life skills and fundamental concepts that will help them function as independently as possible on a day-to-day basis.<\/p>\n

About the Institute started with 2 students in 1996, today the Institute is serving 250 intellectually challenged persons. The boys and girls are accommodated in two separate buildings with a common dining facility.<\/p>\n

In order to extend such services to affected people in the underserved rural areas, Sadhana has started a rehabilitation center in the village of Tekulasomaram, Valigonda mandal, in Yadadri Bhongir district,<\/a> Telangana, India. Here, persons with Intellectually Disability are trained in the basics of self help and in trades such as vegetable gardening, Leaf cup making and small-scale production of food items such as papads and pickles.<\/p>\n

Sadhana has completed a residential school project for the deaf at our Rural Centre where 42 poor deaf children were taught upto V class.<\/p>\n

Students are introduced to concepts such as time, color, and trained in dressing, personal hygiene, eating, and so on. Yoga, speech therapy and physiotherapy are provided according to need. For older children who can cope, vocational training is arranged. Excursions and picnics for the whole group provide opportunities to develop social behavior skills and learn to interact with outside world.<\/p>\n

In 1996, a group of like-minded professionals united with the purpose of establishing a registered society focused on delivering education, training, and rehabilitation services for individuals with intellectual disabilities.<\/p>\n
